building guitar

so i thought i would share what i have been doing for the past couple of weeks with everyone on here...i got a double neck guitar kit off ebay and have been working to get it done...i apologize because my camera is not charged at the moment so ill get the pics as soon as it is charged back up...so yeah well this brings me up to another question has anyone else built a guitar???

I have not built one from a kit. I have re-built a couple, but the primary fit and components were all there. I have also completely stripped a couple and repainted and such. It's fun to kind of "make it your own".

i am pretty much stoked right now this baby is almost done...well except for the three weeks it will take to finish it haha but anyway i went out and got my paint yesterday and my abalone shell letters come in the mail(i am putting my initials in the headstock) so i will start to paint this week while i am waiting for my clear coat to come in...i am going to put pictures up a little later once i get myself out of bed haha :jumpgrin:

Looking forward to the pics.

Have never tried making a guitar. I'm not handy enough, nor do I have the right tools, I'd bet. It would be more frustrating than fun for me.

ok there is none of the six string neck up close but maybe if you look hard you could see it haha sry i will get some of those...but yeah it is similar to the 12 string neck

ok here we go this is pics of the inlays that i put in the headstock both are my initials which is CI haha but yeah the next pics i put on here this guitar should be done i am just getting too excited i want this to be done

just alittle update here no picks yet i didn't have my camera with me when i went to my pap's :frownz: sorry but we put three coats of black on the headstock and we are getting ready to start with the clear coat which i should be getting sometime this weekend hopefully then a few coats of that and she will be done :w:

haha yeah i hope so i am so excited it for it to be done cuz it is almost there but not quite yet i figure maybe a week or two for the clear coat and then the electronics can be done in a hour or so well atleast i hope i mean i am in college for engineering haha but yeah the only thing i am concerned is the pickups that came with it are going to suck so once i see how they sound i will either leave them or get new ones that are better once i get some more money but other than that i can't wait...o and be assured i will try and post sound clips and maybe a video of a song or two so you can all hear it :w:
