i met the wu-tang clan! RZA signed my CD because it was their debut... he didn't sign anything else for anyone else and he talked to me about the death of ODB

anyway, on topic, i don't know about amps but I have a tube preamp and it sounds nice. i guess you'd call it a warm tone... but i've never had a solid state so i wouldn't know the difference lol

I like both equally, I prefer a mix of both to be honest. I';m investing in a Valvestate soon after some testing sessions at a music store.

Tubes distort best and sound awesome but can be dangerous if anything goes wrong. tubes also need to be maintained often if you wish to get the same tones over and over. Whereas SS amps are more reliable, safer and sound exactly the same everytime you turn them on, but their distortion isn't as nice, they don't clean up anywhere near as well as tubes.

It all depends on the purpose really!

I'm an experienced pedal tech specialising in overdrive and distortion pedals as well as SS amps. Any questions guys feel free to send them my way and I'll help the best I can!

I've never really had dependability problems with tube amps. My ss ones have been just as problematic.
