A classic Gibson Les Paul electric guitar used by Eric Clapton is to be reproduced by Gibson Guitars.
The Gibson manufacturer is to come up with a tribute to Eric Clapton's 1960 "Beano" guitar, which he used on the seminal John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers album Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton.
Gibson described the instrument as "
one of the most important guitars in the history of rock and blues music".
The remake of the special Gibson Les Paul is set to be released by the Gibson company next month.
Last month, Eric Clapton - who is best known for his skills on the electric guitar – was named in a top 50 list of the best acoustic players of all time.
The poll by Gibson put Eric Clapton at 41st, citing his impressive 1992 Unplugged album as evidence of his proficiency on the instrument.
Eric Clapton is due to head out on a tour of the UK next year, with dates planned in London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Belfast.
