My go to axe is anything single cutaway (aka Les Paul -style) with double humbuckers. Whether it be Gibson, Epiphone, my Carparelli S2 or an Agile... there's just something about that thick slab of mahogany that I crave (and can't get enough of). Not to mention that I'm a fan of hardtails.

What is your "go to" axe?

I'm a fan of the les paul also. I use an epiphone les paul studio with gibson buckers.

What is it about those guitars that draw you in? Just curious.

For me it's the weight, neck radius, thick mahogany, double humbuckers and tone.

I've got 10 guitars...all kinds and shapes.....but the one I find myself picking up the most is
a relic'd 1984 Japanese Squier Strat. It's like an old pair of tennis shoes. It fits, and feels
good....

Yeah, I totally get that. When I had my Peavey Tracer (sold/traded it to a fellow G-M member) I always found myself playing it, especially for recording. I guess the reason why I chose to record with that guitar over the more expensive/nicer guitars I had was because it was familiar and comfortable for me (and the Seymour Duncans sound amazing).

I bought it back 94' and played the hell out of... I kind of regret trading it.

I'm a huge fan of the single cut too, like the PRS, but i would have to say may fav guitar all round would have to be the ESP Explorer. I know gibson made em but ESP perfected them, then got sued, lol.

yeah they had to shut down production around 2001 or somewhere around then. But they still manafacture the explorer in Japan, but won't ship it here.

In europe and north america they manafacture the EX series and FX series instead and they suck comparitivly
