Just stumbled across this news and thought it was pretty cool. Would be a hell of a new years celebration.
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — New York City drops a crystal ball in Times Square on New Year's Eve. In Niagara Falls, N.Y., 2010 will be ushered in with the dropping of a big guitar. A 10-foot fiberglass guitar will be dropped at midnight at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Niagara Falls. The model of a Gibson electric guitar was raised atop an 80-foot-high scaffold on the restaurant earlier this week. The New Year's Eve guitar drop was introduced last year at the Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis, Tenn.
