Default Cabinet - 09-29-2009, 05:42 AM

Hello GM I have a triple xxx I'm using with an avatar 2x12 cabinet. I'm going to go to a 4x12 cabinet but have no idea what to choose there are so many speakers out there it's unreal ! Ok I like my sound tight and percussive any suggestions would be appreciated. I have 400 bucks for a purchase thanks

Man, I love the Peavey XXX and my favorite cab paired with it is the Mesa/Boogie Recto with Vintage 30s. I used two 2x12 Recto vertical cabs, those are awesome. It produced percussive with nice bass reflex. It cut through the mix like butter.

In my opinion, Celestion 30s are the best. You might find a nice Marshall cab loaded up,.. or maybe get a Mesa 2x12 .. then later add another. Thats an awesome way to go to make your sound big.

I didn't like the Avatar cab with it, really. And the original XXX cab I don't like either

I currently have a Risson (70's-80's small USA manufacturer) 4x12, and previously had a Laney AOR series 4x12, but I couldn't characterize either one as percussive.

Good luck in your search.
