I haven't bought any of the SX's. They generally are cheaper than the Korean-made Agiles, so there may be small imperfections in them here and there. If you get a dog that has some real issue that affects playability, Kurt is very good about returns. So long as you are not expecting it to be a Fender Custom Shop or a US G&L or an Anderson or Suhr, you should be fine. So it's really not a risky buy. For that kinda cash it's hard to go wrong.

Yeah, at that price it'll be hard to find a solid alder Tele. Plywood, or maybe even basswood or agathis, but not alder.

Another good guitar that isn't a household name is Cort Guitars. Brain, I'm sure you heard of Cort. Have you played one?

Oddly, I've never played a Cort or a Samick, those are the two biggest MIK companies I think.

I've been doing intesive research and apparently Cort are Sammick both built at the same Cor-Tek manufactures (factory) with the same quality control. I've also read 'speculation' that Agile is made at Cor-Tek manufactures as well.

Oh, just found on wiki that some MIK Ibanez's are built at Cor-Tek.

Per serial number on Ibanez:
Korean Ibanez Serial Numbers

C = Cor-Tek (Cort), S = Samick(1990-1995), S/SQ = Saehan(Sunghan), P = Peerless (Iida), Y = Yoojin, A = Sae-In.

Small world, isn't it.
