Ah, some of the sweetest words in the English language.

But what could it be?

Here's a hint:

Yeah, it arrived a couple hourse ago. It is the 12-string version of my infamous pink Retro-H, which I now need to sell, if only to make room physically for the 12-string version.

The 12-string is white, though, not pink. The seller has modded the guitar, having yanked the hot mini's that come stock and putting in a couple Brownsville alnico toasters. As luck would have it, by coincidence I own a Brownsville with the same toasters on it, so I know they're cool pickups and that the seller hasn't ruined the guitar by attempting to upgrade it. Seller is a longtime good guy over at Harmony-Central, DCinDC.

Here's the guitar. Pre-pickup swap:

Pics are seller's and a bit dark. Color is white metallic.

I went looking for some better pics than the seller's on the web, the white is a pearl white metallic, here's some pics I dug up that show the color a little better, though the metallic part isn't readily apparent:

That is a sweet looking guitar Brian!

I really like the white color with the binding and f hole. I never saw pups like that before, but they look really nice in the axe. It looks really fun to play. What songs do you play 12-strings?

Thanks. It's sorta "faux" binding, truth be told. Not really inlaid like real binding, just painted on. But it looks cool anyhow, haha.

As far as particular songs for 12-string, I don't really have any. Pretty much any song with a lot of open/'cowboy" chords will sound good, especially with some finger-picking (or the equivalent done with a pick).

I did sit down and figure out the intro to the Byrds' version of "Mr. Tambourine Man," just so I would have something that has the 12-string electric chime to play. Obviously, this is no Ric, but I couldn't really justify spending that kinda dough on something with a somewhat limited application. This fits the bill nicely though.
