Default I did it... - 10-20-2008, 04:55 PM

I traded in the V100H for the Mesa Triple Rec at the pawn shop. The one I posted about a while back, thought someone had bought it, but they only put it on lay away and then backed out. I actually talked them down to 975.00, but that was as low as they would go, I also put a BC Rich Beast on lay away too. My amp was just a down payment for both. I should get it out by Xmas . I didn't have the cash for a down payment, but didn't want this little jem in the junk yard(so to speak) slip away again. The Beast has an OFR on it and was only 250 and in really good shape(about a 8.5 outa 10). They still had that Jackson USA that looked like someone got mad at and threw out of a third floor window, but I passed on that...for now . They also had a nice Shector and Washburn 7-string guitars, if the wife wasn't with me one of those woulda' got put on lay away too. So...now I'm back to the ss Crate to jam on, it's cool though, she's like an old girlfriend, familiar, if you know what I mean.

Alright, I got the amp I want on lay away. Now I need a speaker cab and can't decide which one of these I want to get:

Krank Krankenstein 4x12(Eminence Texas Heats)
Marshall 1960A 4x12(Celestion G12-75T)
Marshall 1960BV 4x12(Celestion Vintage 30's)
Marshall 1960AX 4x12(Celestion 25w Greenbacks)
Randall RA412XL 4x12(Celestion Vintage 30's)
Laney TT412A 4x12(Vintage 30's)
or a custom LopoLine cab with Eminence Texas Heats.
Which one would sound the best with my Mesa? Which one would you get?

Out of those cabs, the Krank cab is by far the best built, I just got a Mesa Road King last night and have yet to try it with my 2x12 with Texas Heats, if you can go for the Rev cab instead though, that'd almost certainly be the best sounding.

Otherwise, any of the V30 cabs will sound good, just stay clear of the regular 1960, G12T-75s tend to not sound so great with more modern voiced amps.

Randall RM4/Mesa 2:90
Ampeg VH-140C
Duncan Convertible

Genz Benz G-Flex
Lopo 2x12

Ibanez RG3120 Prestige
Jackson RR5
Edwards E-LP-92SD
Aria Nexter
