The double neck guitar has been around be around 2 centuries. Many successful artists have used these guitars in their music for various reasons. The structure of the guitar allows the artist to do things that would normally not be able to be done.

The first commercially manufactured double necked guitar was made by the company Gibson. This guitar was first released in 1958 which was the year that the company introduced a number of iconic guitars. This guitar was not only unique due to the double neck but also the fact that one neck had 12 strings and the other had 6.

Recently many guitar manufacturers have started to produce double neck bass guitars. The reason for this is that with a double neck it is possible to have multiple tuning. It is also possible to get these guitars with one neck being a bass and the other being a lead guitar.

There are many reasons why there are many artists who like using these guitars. The fact that you can have two guitars on one means that it is possible to change guitars without having to physically change them. Unfortunately due to the price of these guitars they are not usually used by the average musician. Additionally many of the classic models have been discontinued and can only be ordered from custom stores.

The double neck guitar has been around for decades and has become an icon. There are many reasons se these.
