My first bought amp was a mid 70's Crate combo that actually looked like a wood crate. The speaker blew the first month so the warranty covered a replacement which turned out too be a Fender stamped replacement.
Sounded better and never blew up again. I have the thing to this day(couldnt give it away). Its got sterile tone and does a Horrible gain sound but does sound quite good with a modeler in front for low volume home jammin.
My first amp I had given to me(Christmas) was a 70's Fender Vibro Champ. God I wish I still had that little wonder.
