Re: Fender Stratocaster

I like the ones with the bigger headstocks. Hendrix's strats were mostly like this. Sound wise - I haven't played even a small proportion of the variations... is there much variation? Obviously maple...

Re: What bass shall I buy

:wallbash:

Ok, you definately don't know what retro means! ::) but thanks anyway Charlie!

I play a lot of different kinds of music, but this band is effectively a twelve bar blues outfiit (with...

Re: [POLL] Favorite *BRAND* of electric guitar?

Have you tried using a thicker gauge string. Or A different brand, or material.... The string itself has a major impact on the sound - fiddly light strings are comfortable to play, but will sound...

Re: Vox V847 wah.

line 6

What do you think about Line 6 modelling effects?

I've only had a 1/2 hour session, on my friends amp, with all the fx built in. I didn't like it - just didn't sound right, though I can't really...

What bass shall I buy

My band *may* have the chance to do a mini-tour in the US (i'm in the UK)

Unfortunately we're not stars - we will pretty much be paying for the privelege ourselves! I don't mind too much; could be...

Re: My friends Caparison...

Interesting guitar... and new to me.

No volume or tone controls? or are they on the back ;D I know lots of people like everything on full, but I really like the contrast of a mellow tone 0 neck,...

Re: [POLL] Favorite *BRAND* of electric guitar?

Gibson all the way.

I prefer set necks to bolt-on and mahogany to all the others

The only thing wrong with Gibsons is that they snap if you look at them! ;)

Fenders are nice to play, but...

Re: Who plays electric and has an acoustic?

I have an acoustic next to my sofa at all times. Great for playing during the adverts, whilst watching TV.

A dash of country blues here and there is always good. Its a 12 string (though currently...

Re: is it really worth it?

Theres a lot of issues here. Firstly craftsmanship - High End pre 70s guitars were made to very high standards. Yes modern day mass production can also be of high standard, but certain things, like...

Re: OMG w00p :D

Thats a nice old Gibson. So what year are you saying - early seventies? Gibson serial numbers at that time were a right mess, and without pot codes to back them up, it gets hard to be precise. How...
