MrSandMan, did you get to play a Axe-Fx?
I noticed that Ty Tabor is using them now, too. He has a killer live tone.

I use D'Addario 9's.
If I had an SG, I think I'd put 10's on it just to try them out.

Re: PRS SE Guitars
There's a local store here that carries PRS's and Suhr's.
I haven't really tried enough PRS's yet to get a good informed opinion of them, but I do like the thin neck better than the thick one.

Oh, it'll be a couple of months before I get it *LOL* I love black guitars , also. I'd really like just a plain old black Ibanez JS1000.
Carvin has some rather nice looking green maple tops, too.

I wouldn't exactly turn down a black one, either. I already have a black S series, but that blue just does it for me. :D

Re: Joe Satriani Chickenfoot Ibanez JS1000 Guitar
I'm as big a Satch fan as they come, but I wouldn't buy one with the Chickenfoot logo on it.
I'd rather have one like this : http://js10th.com/shared/JS1000-volcano.jpg

Re: Looking for some advice on multi-effect processors
I've read very good things about them. I'd like to try one out but I doubt too many stores stock them.
They certainly seem to polarize people in terms of modeling vs analog.

I realize it's in a completely different price range, but I had read nothing but good about the Axe-FX from Fractal Audio. I'd love to test one out.

That's actually a pretty nice looking Strat. Please tell me they didn't ruin the rest of it with a HD graphic on the fretboard and/or headstock.
I guess they didn't learn anything from GIbson's...

I think the headstock is hideous, but otherwise it kinda reminds me of some of Washburn's Scott Ian models.

Re: New axe
Speaking of tremolo bridges, I'd like to play a Petrucci signature EB Music Man to see how it feels and stays in tune considering it's not a locking system.

If you have a local shop that does repair work, it might be possible to have the strap pin moved from the back to the tip of the horn.

I wonder how many people tried boiling their strings when they read EVH interviews stating he did that way back when.
I can definitely see why bass players do that....bass strings are expensive!

Re: Guitar playability
Ibanez's JS1000 and JS1200 Satriani signature models have compound radius necks.
Those Charvels are some nice looking axes! I take it there's no option for a rosewood or ebony fretboard?
