Marshall Valvestate 8100
 

Hey guys, I just picked up a Marshall Valvestate 8100 (purchased online) and I uncharacteristically bought on impulse.

Seems the amp produces some kick ass metal tones, how does it do with rock, vintage and cleans? I can only find metal tone samples online.

Weird day. One hour after I pulled the trigger on the Marshall, I picked up a Crate GX-130C (similar to the Ampeg VH-140C), but much cheaper in price since it doesn't have the all the hype.

The 8100 is a killer amp, throw an EQ in the loop..... :w:

Hey Juggs, have you played the Crate GX130C? Apparently they are "very similar" to the Ampeg VH-140C (you owned one before, right?).

nope, I've actually never had either one of those.... would LOVE the Ampeg though. :D

I think you would love the Ampeg too, it'll sandblast the skin off your testicles :biggrin: I cannot find one sound clip of the ampeg that I don't like.

Cannible Corpse uses / used the Crate GX-130C. So it must be a tight beast too.
(I'm not a fan of CC though)

I'd love to get my hands on one someday..... never had the chance yet. hey always pop up when I'm broke, or looking for something else. :jumpgrin:
