Best Beginner Song?

What is the best song for a beginner to start learning on. I know some basic chords, A,G,D ex but I haven't played a melody really. I wanted to learn "Nothing else matters" but the tabs I got were confusing. Any ideas?

For Whom the Bell Tolls is really easy too. And I love the tone of the RTL album!

first song i learned to play was smells like teen spirit - nirvana

easiest songs i can think of are:
nothing else matters -metallica the rhythm parts aren't too difficult
easiest chord song is by far smoke on the water - deep purple

A good choice for open chords! Even a bit easier than House of the Rising Sun.

Again for open chords...No Woman, No Cry is pretty easy if you've got F down.

F is really hard for me too

Mad World by Gary Jules (donnie darko soundtrack) is fairly easy to play, uses G, D, A, and Em chords i believe
