My new score... xD

1992 Fender SRV Strat-- lived in a smoke free home

From what I gather, SRV was designed in 1989 and was suppose to be ready for production in 1990, 10 weeks before they were to go into production, Stevie Ray Vaughn died. The Fender SRV wasn't released...

It wasn't until January 1992 that Fender finally put them in production and didn't find their way into stores until March of 92'.

The one that I found was made April 22, 1992. It's Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard which I hear was limited, and lucky to find. It's speculated that the necks on the first batch of SRV with Brazilian fingerboards are leftover stock from 1983-vintage '62 Reissue Strats.

EDIT: I also know who the original owner is too btw.. which is really cool :cool2:

Sweeeeeet!

I would really like to hear how you like that trem arm like that. I have always considered it.

Very nice indeed. I, too, have a '92 SRV. I bought the guitar in pristine condition for $600 US and I also took off the same friend's hands an early 90s Mesa Blue Angel 4x10 for another $600. An amazing and killer blues set-up for a mere 1200 bucks. I'd never sell either piece either.  :nono:

Not sure how I missed this to date.

Those are some great pics. I have a similar tweed case for my 80's '52 RI Tele. I tend to forget the SRV's have the backwards trem, what effect does that have on it's operation?

What makes you say that? He didn't give any indication he was buying to flip it?

Why would anyone palm mute on an SRV? That doesn't make any sense.

Any other histrionics I can't imagine a trem bar being a problem. Players with trem bars get used to where they are. It's merely a matter of habituation.

why wouldn't you palm mute on an SRV? signature guitars only for playing said endorsee' songs? :-O :-)
