VOX AC30 identification.
Hi eveybody.
I have a vintage JMI Vox Ac30, from the 1960's i've had this amp for 28 years myself, it has silver alnico speakers, and a grey panel non top boost version. I think this amp is from the approx 1964 - 1967 but i am not 100% certain. Can anybody recomend a good website, where i might be able to identify the date and name of model of this amp. Many thanks willow. |
Re: VOX AC30 identification.
i would say look for a serial # and type it in google and see what it does... but i will have a look and see if i can find any info out also...

Re: VOX AC30 identification.
Many thanks monster! The difficulty i have with the serial number, is part of it, has been removed prior to my ownership. But i have to say, i bought this amp legitimately from a music shop/store about 1980 when nobody wanted valve amps (can you believe it!), and everybody wanted the latest transitorised amp, those were the days. Many thanks for your help.

Re: VOX AC30 identification.
Try contacting Vox directly. Here's the Vox website:
http://www.voxamps.co.uk/ Go to the support menu and click on "Contact Vox." I dunno how good Vox is about this sorta thing, but at the Peavey site they have one Peavey guy who, as a part of his job for Peavey, answers everyone's gear-dating questions. |
I like my AC30 head. Very nice sound.

Great amps, I saw a pic of Brian May's AC30 stack a while back. Amazing.
