Re: Roland JC-120 JazzMaster
I had one a while back, VERY NICE clean tone! But that's all I used it for. The other channels sounded really thin and weak for my style of music. I used it about 3 months and traded it for a new motorcycle helmet.

Re: Roland JC-120 JazzMaster
I heard nothing but really good things about the clean channel of the amp. My cube, which is supposed to "model" the JC sound has a very nice clean tone, so I can only guess the real thing would sound incredible. I've always wanted to try one out, every once in a while they pop up on craigslist for really tempting prices.

I want it only for they clean channel... I use my roadster for my chunk and i'm hoping to add another mesa for only high end and mids. Then to use the roland for my cleans

Re: Roland JC-120 JazzMaster
That should work for ya dude. Back in the 80's, "the" setup to have , at least with the guy's I hung around, was a Marshall half stack for your dirty sound, and a JC120 for your cleans. I could never afford either, but some of the guys I played with, had this set up, and it was heaven. :sweet:

Re: Roland JC-120 JazzMaster
Interesting, I've never seen it referred to as a JazzMaster before. Usually they're referred to as a Jazz Chorus™, which is what the JC stands for.
At any rate, good for cleans, take pedals well. Bo Diddley used a Jazz Chorus, here's a shot of his in the foreground with my bass rig in the background. https://gnn.ufalumni.ufl.edu/visuals...71/024_22A.JPG |
