Guitar drop for 2010 in Niagara Falls
 

Just stumbled across this news and thought it was pretty cool. Would be a hell of a new years celebration.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — New York City drops a crystal ball in Times Square on New Year's Eve. In Niagara Falls, N.Y., 2010 will be ushered in with the dropping of a big guitar.

A 10-foot fiberglass guitar will be dropped at midnight at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Niagara Falls. The model of a Gibson electric guitar was raised atop an 80-foot-high scaffold on the restaurant earlier this week.


The New Year's Eve guitar drop was introduced last year at the Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis, Tenn. The company is using the idea Thursday night in Memphis, Nashville and Niagara Falls.

I'm an old fart and usually stay in on NYE. Too many tipsies out there tonight. Having a few friends over to Casa Krashpad for drinks, snack food, tunes, and some bottle rockets at midnight.
