My first guitar was actually really cool. It was a country and western looking peavey T-15 (brown with cream pickguard) with hardshell case. The 15 watt amp was built into the hardshell case.

The guitar was nice tho- Traded towards Patrick's Peavey Tracer.

My very first guitar was a 1975 Sears and Roebuck LP sunburst.
MIJ but was truly a piece of crap. I paid a whopping $89 for the guitar and its starter amp set. The 10 watt SS amp had a Made in Canada for Sears sticker on it.

I had a Squier strat. Affinity. Honestly, it sucked.

floydmoline 03-19-2008 09:04 PM

Re: What was your very first guitar?

well even the worst affinity i have played have blown all the harmony, and lotus guitars i have played

Monster 03-21-2008 11:24 AM

Re: What was your very first guitar?

the way i look at it is there is always a better guitar out there then the one you own....lol.. :bowz: tis why when i was a kid i went threw so many guitars...... :w:

Re: What was your very first guitar?

yeah and it's funny because it seems all the cheaper guitars, when you are a kid, the ugly ones sound good, and the guitars that look sharp typically sounded like shit lol

Re: What was your very first guitar?

my first was an epiphone Les paul junior.... it rocked actually. good playability and with the addition of a tonezone.... it kicked some ass!

Re: What was your very first guitar?

Mine was the typical affinity series Squire strat. I actually liked it alright but it had crappy action/intonation. One day I was bored and my friend and I Van-Halenized it with some electrical tape. Took it off eventually.

Re: What was your very first guitar?

JC Penney Harmony strat knock-off. Worst ever, but I loved being a 'rock-star'. It made me feel right somehow.

Re: What was your very first guitar?

Ha speaking of awful guitars has anyone ever played the Hammer Slammer? My friend had one, and it's just about the most awful thing you can play.

That's a good idea, there should defintely be a connection to your first guitar, if it's not a POS. My first electric was in fact a POS. I have no idea what became of it. I took the strings off it and used it as a wall hanging for awhile (it was a Sears Generic). I do have my first 2 decent electric guitars, a 1960 Fender Duo-Sonic and a 1973 Ovation Breadwinnner.
