I've used the Elixir electrics. They're good. They do last longer. The coated strings are a bit slippery and that bothers some people...the flip side is that finger noise is reduced. I liked them for a guitar I had that had a problem nut. The teflon coating solved the nut-binding problem until I could properly fix it.

I have a whol wide variety of them. Bought a ton when I first got a guitar 5 years ago. And to think, I had to ge tthe guy at the store to string it for me back then. :jumpgrin:

D'addario makes great acoustic strings. I love the feel and sound.
