Yeah no doubt. that's something you don't think about much. Were they doing this because of 911? Your cousin must have been shitting bricks when those 757 went off course.

They're doing it for two reasons: the supervisor at the FAA center is an idiot, and the FAA's budget is insufficient to do proper training. Bad combo.

No relation to security concerns at all.

Dave is a long way from NYC airspace. He probably saw it on TV like everyone else.
