I still want one of these, but prefer the 100watt version, but the 50 comes with a cab that could be fixed up the way I want. The 50 watter also seems to have some issues:

So, which one is the better deal to you? Your opinions will help me decide. EDIT: I would also like to add, I can drive to Athens in about 3 hours to check the GT50H out or pick it up. Maybe even talk the guy down in price?

I'd go for the 100-watt because I'm not a fan of Peavey cabs and the seller of the 50 watter says it needs new tubes.

And depends on the condition / cosmetics...

On a side note, you could always sell the PV cab if you don't like it and have a cheap GT50 head and replace the tubes.

Yeah, I'm not too big a fan of PV period. But the way I look at it is, if you take the PV badge off, and replace the speakers, it's just a cab then. All PV stuff ain't that bad, some of their amps are acually pretty good, just not my cup of tea.

I like PV amps... I just don't like the 5150 cabs, xxx cabs, or any other PV cab. Not a fan of Blue Marvel or Sheffield. After upgrading the speakers, you may have well spent your cash on a used Marshall cab or Avatar.

I do like PV XXX and 6505+ Heads tho :D

You've obviously never heard of the Lee Jackson designed Stealth then. It's one of the most under rated-unheard of amps built. The first time I heard one of these, I thought" No way! That ain't a Crate." Awesome sound for what it is, a cheap tube amp. Crate makes some really good amps, you just gotta know how to eq your amp to get good tone. I'm playin through a XT120R right now with 2x12 inch Eminence Texas heats in it. Love the tone I get from this amp, I just want a tube amp again. I had a Randall V2, but it and a couple guitars and a bunch of other electronic stuff was stolen from my house a few months ago. Luckily, I had already moved the amp and guitar I have now to my new house.

and Lee Jackson's are becoming harder and harder to find. I was surprised that you found these two.

Yeah, I actually found a couple others too. But they wouldn't answer my emails, neither is the guy with the 100 watt. The guy in Athens GA with the 50 watter is emailing me some pics tomorrow. I might just see if he'll sell me just the head without the cab. Then I can get one of my sisters that live there(they both go to UGA) to pick it up for me and hold it till my next visit. Plus, my dad can take it to work and look it over for me. :2thumbups:
