Hi eveybody.

I have a vintage JMI Vox Ac30, from the 1960's i've had this amp for 28 years myself, it has silver alnico speakers, and a grey panel non top boost version. I think this amp is from the approx 1964 - 1967 but i am not 100% certain. Can anybody recomend a good website, where i might be able to identify the date and name of model of this amp.

Many thanks willow.

Many thanks monster! The difficulty i have with the serial number, is part of it, has been removed prior to my ownership. But i have to say, i bought this amp legitimately from a music shop/store about 1980 when nobody wanted valve amps (can you believe it!), and everybody wanted the latest transitorised amp, those were the days. Many thanks for your help.

Try contacting Vox directly. Here's the Vox website:

http://www.voxamps.co.uk/

Go to the support menu and click on "Contact Vox."

I dunno how good Vox is about this sorta thing, but at the Peavey site they have one Peavey guy who, as a part of his job for Peavey, answers everyone's gear-dating questions.

Great amps, I saw a pic of Brian May's AC30 stack a while back. Amazing.
