Hello everyone, here is a exclusive thread on 'how to' make simple recordings for free using your PC.
1) Download Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net (free)
2) Find a Wave to MP3 converter. like http://www.riverpast.com/en/prod/waveatmp3/ (free)
3) Upload on a MP3 hosting site like. http://www.dmusic.com/ or www.myspace.com/ or both (free)
(I prefer dmusic because it holds more songs.)
Volia! Post your clips here!
Post any questions here.... I'll try to help.

oh, another tip - audacity has an option to export mp3.... you just need to download their LAME MP3 Encoder - their name for it, not mine lol
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows
instructions are there, but yeah i also recommend their VST enabler so you can use plugins if you wish. on their wikipedia entry there is a list of known compatible plugins, many of them absolutely free

thanks for the sites...i saw talk about doing a giveaway where everyone votes on who does the best recording of a song...if everyone wants to give it a shot i would be in...it actually doesn't even have to be a giveaway maybe just friendly competition...just a suggestion :2thumbups:

That sounds like a fun idea! Have you discussed this suggestion with others who might be interested in participating in the song recording competition or friendly competition? What song would you choose to record if the event happens?
