First Peter Steele, singer and bassist of Type O Negative (April 14th 2010), Ronnie James Dio (May 16th 2010) and now Paul Gray, bassist of Slipknot (May 24th 2010). Sad year in the metal music world.
Paul Gray, bassist for the metal band Slipknot (http://www.gear-vault.com/paul-gray-of-slipknot-dead/), is dead at the age of 38. His body was discovered by a hotel employee at the Towne Place Suites in Urbandale, Iowa on Monday. Amy Sciarretto, a publicist at Slipknot’s record company, Roadrunner Records, confirmed the death of Paul Gray but made no further comment.
Paul Gray is survived by his wife Brenna. He and his wife were expecting their first child at the time of his death.
Gray was known to his fans as “#2″ and “The Pig.” Born April 8, 1972, Paul Dedrick Gray co-founded the band Slipknot in 1995 with drummer Joey Jordison and percussionist Shawn Crahan. RIP Paul Gray (http://xtrememusic.net/paul-gray-of-slipknot-dead)
