Gibson Guitars is creating some of the most ugliest guitars. I appreciate that they want to continue to pave the way, but c'mon.

Okay, this Gibson Strat is fake... but is still funny.

They've been really off the rails of late.

They're like the poster child fro corporate greed and stupidity.

Anyone know why they moved their Epiphone factory to China from Korea? I'm less than impressed with China made epi's. The Korean made were fantastic.

What I've heard is that the MIK's were outsourced to existing companies, like Cort, Shine (Saein), etc. Gibson wanted to build it's own factory from the ground up. Cheaper to do so in China.

I haven't played the MIC Epi's, but the scuttlebutt I've heard is that the initial ones were pretty rough but they've been gaining ground rapidly.

I have a MIC Fernandes Ravelle and it's as nice as any MIK anything I've ever played. Fwiw, ymmv.

The explorer one is tolerable but other then that burn em all.
