guitar payer from my last band sold his truck to buy one........ "I" can hear no difference between the solid state ones and the valve ones....... to me all the line6 amps sound like crap..... i mean yeah they are versitile, have all kinds of effects..... but turn all the effects off, and hear the amp straight up alone..... they are not to par to me.... they can't stand on their own without teh effects.... just my opinion of course.

I'd be wary just because of my experiences with the spider solid states.  Just not a fan of their very digital sound.  Then again, the valve ones are probably much nicer.... but the name just makes me cringe a little.

I tried the single combo for 5-10 minutes at Sam Ash. Very nice for what it is. I don't think I'd ever gig with it. But I have a purchase of one planned in the future. For the living-room of my house. Something I can pull many sounds out of when friends are over.
