In my quest for more gain from the V100H(it's not a Metal amp, but geared more for Blues and Hard Rock) I hooked my Metal Muff up to the clean channel. I had to check my pants afterwards! It turned it into a Monster!! I may have to leave it in my efx chain from now on. The SD1 does a lot for the gain channel(more 80's Hair Metal tone than anything), but doesn't give me that "dark" tone I was looking for. Also the MM pedal sounds sooo much sweeter runnin' through tubes than it does runnin' through transistors. I just emailed FJA mods to see if KT88's can be put in, in place of the EL34's. KT88's have that warm "dark" tone I like.

That's kick ass bro. The Metal Muff is a sweet pedal. The Big Muff is cool too... I liked it with the PV XXX.

I couldn't find the top boost usable on the Metal Muff... do you use the top boost?
But it is nice and dark... It really adds some low end pump.

Sometimes, but only at it's lowest setting, as in turned all the way down. I just use it for solo's. But mostly I think the same, unuseable, because it's really harsh/shrill sounding. But turned all the way down and used only for some solo's it works ok. At about a 9o'clock setting with some eq adjustments both on the pedal and my 7 band fish'n'chips I can get an awesome "Kill'em'All" tone though.

No, not yet, probly today though. I can't wait to try it out with this amp.

Edit: Just got home from work, and got the DS1 and tape deck, I'll let you know how it sounds through the new amp .

Fer sure man. I didn't like the tone from the speaker cab, at first, but here lately it's sounding pretty good to me. Guess I just had to get used to that ceramic magnet tone. Although I don't think the head or cab would be very"road worthy" for a gigging musician, I'm not, a flight case for both would be a must have. Unless you like your rig with battle scars.

Speakers need to 'break in' before they start to sound good... i.e Celestion Hellatone is a V30 that was broke in. They just take a Vintage 30, run it in the factory for a period of time and on a certain level for the break in to occur...  and plaster a Hellatone sticker on it 

We start with a stock great sounding classic 60 watt Celestion Vintage 30. We convert it into a Hellatone by aging it slightly and by exercising the suspension for 15 hours so when you get it, it has a warmer tone on the very first note.  These two aging processes warm up the low end and smooth out the midrange slightly. Cool, I knew speakers needed to break in, but thought mine were broken in already. Guess not. It's still getting better sounding as I play it. Like I said, I would just worry about roadworthiness if I was a gigging musician. The tolex feels really thin and cheap, and is already coming up on a corner on the back of the cab.

How long does it take to break in a speaker I knew they had a break in period but I dont know how long like say in playing hours.

15 hours of playing time is when you'll start hearing the difference. Some companies will suggest 20 - 30 hours.
