Found the amp I want!!

I found a new amp to replace my V2 that was stolen. Only problem, I'll have to keep using the Crate till I save up for it. I'm looking to get the ISP Technologies Theta active guitar system. The head is 300watts with 2 preamp's, the 412 cab has celestions and can handle 300watts, and the bottom cab has an active 15" 400watt subwoofer and 212's. I'm hoping to have the complete setup by the end of the year, IF nothing else comes up that I have to spend a bunch o money on.

Check it out. Oh yeah, I forgot, it's solid state too.

I dunno man, that's a fuck of a lotta knobs.
Way too many for me to deal with. I'd just as soon get an old tube amp with about 1/4 the knobs as are on that thing.
Good luck with it.

True that head... and the foot switch look kind of intimidating. I'm sure that those amps sound great though, and they must have TONS of tonal possibilities.

I think two sets are for the channels, and two sets are for the preamps. I read a bunch of reviews on this thing, and have yet to find a bad one. There's a dealer down in Enterprise AL, I'm going there next week to try one out. He said he has the Vector cab as well as the 412 and he'd hook them both up for me. I hope it sounds as good as everyone says it does, if so I'm opening a savings account just for this.

what i require from an amp...... a tube soul, gain, treble, mid, bass, volume......... anymore than that is a waste on me i more or less only use one channel, slightly dirty my DSL401 has a clean channel a dirty channel and a "boost" i basically use the dirty channel with the gain down and volume up, and push it with pedals.... i wouldn't know what to do with all those channels, it's cool to have them but i find my self not using them anyway :-\

Btw, I didn't mean to imply there's anything wrong with all them knobs.
But for me to be able to use that thing, at a minimum I'd need to get out some "white-out"/correction fluid and mark all my amp settings.
Maybe even get out some gaffer's tape and tape a batch of those knobs down. If the knob settings got screwed up right before you were supposed to go on, it'd be a disaster!

Well, I'm going to try one out Monday, so we'll see how tough the beast will be to tame. I think some of them knobs are for the 2 built in decimator noise gates too. We'll see tomorrow.

Must be an extremely loud amp! Are using it for stadium gigs only.
Or just your Bedroom!

It's gonna pull double duties. In my studio, as soon as it gets finished, and gigs around with local bands that need a helping hand. I'm gonna love crankin' her up at the house, I got a neighbor that calls the cops on everyone around her for any little thing:) she's called them on me so many times all three(small town) of the cops have my cell number. So they can call me instead of coming out here.

WOW. That's all I can say about this amp. It's LOUD for sure, but it's also soo sonicly detailed, it's freakin' amazing! The bass, mids and highs are sepereated so perfectly, you can hear every note, every detail, that you play. It sounds like a real tube amp too! And QUIET. We hooked up a MT-2 with a single coil strat, and turned up the gain baby. You couldn't hear one hiss, pop, crackle, or anything, those decimators sure do their job good. The range of tones possible on this thing were just awesome, and intimidating at the same time. The salesmen I was talking with KNEW this amp, you'd have to ,to be able to sell it I guess. He said the amount of time you spend tweaking is how good you'll sound. Not to say it takes long, but longer than say a Marshall JCM800, or HiWatt HiGain 100 amp. The cleans almost made me cry, it sounded soo good. The digital reverb was the bomb. Better than some spring reverbs I've heard. Even the little 212 combo sounded just as good as the stack. This whole set up almost has, to quote a review I read somewhere, 3d kinda of sound the way every thing is seperated. You can go WAY overboard with the active bass amp though. You have to set the volume level for it(on back of the cab) to match your mids and highs(the amp head it self). All in all , I'm definately getting this amp.
EDIT: BTW my wife said I looked like a kid in a candy store. It took 30 minutes forme to decide which guitar I would try the amp out with(I settled for a BC Rich Deluxe V, a guitar I'm seriuosly considering buying now). It had been so long since I was in a REAL music store, I didn't want to leave!! I almost started throwing a tantrum right there in the showroom.(jk). If you guys can, check this amp out, yeah it has a lot of knobs, but trust me your ears will love you.

Glad you liked it. Sounds interesting.
My 3 main amps are all-tube, I hvaen't played a modern SS guitar amp at band-type volume... ever.
All my bass amps, though, are SS.
