Metal, also regarded to as “heavy metal”, is an aggressive music genre. Bands that started this kind of music genre was born during the late 1960’s going to early years of 1970’s in areas of United States and United Kingdom. Metal music evolved from a combination of psychedelic and blues rock, which sparked and ignited bands from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath. This in turn started the evolution towards heavy and thick centered sound mixture, which characterized hard drums and overdriven guitar amps. This music genre is highly considered to be the most aggressive and extreme when it comes to volume, sound effects, theatrical performance and machismo.
One of the rising stars in our modern times of heavy metal is the metal band “Groove Pipe”. Composed of four members in a group, Chris Cox, Matt Herzog, Chad Speros and Brian Lewers are from Ohio, United States in the regions of Canton, Massillon and Waynesburg, where the band’s home base is.
When did they start and how? The band was first formed by the year 2004. It began when Chad Speros and Brian Lewers tried to come up with something indifferent but cool and yes, they did have that. They started with two but then realized their need of a bass player and that’s when they got the interest of Matt Herzog. For about six months, these three continued rolling their music in front of so many crowds but later on they again realized that their music style is in great need of another guitarist. They tried jamming with different talented people until they found Chris Cox and knew he was right for the group.
Which bands have the greatest influence on their heavy metal style? The band favored a lot but their humble strategy is “getting a little something different from all that you hear”. But their indifference is an output of music styles from the metal bands such as Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, Sound Garden and Metallica.
The name of the group, Groove Pipe, just came out of nowhere. From the moment they created that name, they were just desperate to have their group be called with something unusual so that they’d be able to get a lot of gigs and be heard by many people. So far, since they started pulling their guitar strings and hardly hitting the drum sets, they realized that they are a “not that bad after all” band and that they are simply great music players. They have never received any negative feedbacks yet from the crowd or from anyone else and that is already a great thing to the band. The audience of their metalled-music style is not a big deal after all. They write original songs for every ages and for everybody so that no one will be deprived of being a “first timer” in listening to metal music. They are just starting out with all hard rock metal and then later on they said that they will move to something melodic and rhythmical. They do not rush in escalating their music career into greater heights. They just simply write and try one song at a time and then everything just falls into their right places.
